A report published today by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) reveals that Ireland is ranked the second most expencive country in Europe for broadband just above of Finland. The cheapest regions for broadband in Europe are Sweden as the cheapest then Denmark and Switzerland following. 

This report further highlights the poor condition Ireland is in. Take up for broadband remains poor in Ireland and continues erode our global competitive position as a knowledge based economy. Irish business are being held hostage by a select few companies monopolizing the market.

Ireland's fleeting vision as a high tech country is really just a political ideal grounded in what will never be. The reality is a stark one, we are way, way behind the rest of Europe because of one greedy little company.
